# Samsung completes Widener signing joins squad ahead of SSG game on Nov. 11

The Samsung Lions have finalized the signing of foreign pitcher Taylor Widener, 28, who was released by the NC Dinos.

"We acquired Widener through a waiver transfer, and he will wear the number 57 and play as a starting pitcher," [성인웹툰 ](https://happytoyworld.xyz/2023/08/baes-the-shortest-atp-player-at-170-cm-wins-the-generali-open/)the team said on Nov. 11.

After completing the contract process with his new team, Widener joined the team before the game against SSG Landers at SSG Landers Field in Incheon.

Widener, who donned the NC uniform ahead of the season, suffered a back injury while running in an exhibition game and didn't make his first appearance until late May.

After recovering, Widener went 4-2 with a 4.52 ERA in 11 games, and the team decided to replace him with a foreign pitcher during the season, ending the relationship. However, [일본야동 ](http://www.cv.it-hiroshima.ac.jp/i-lab/?19guide0316)Samsung reached out.

Samsung, which has been in the bottom half of the standings this season and recently lost foreign pitcher Albert Suarez to a torn left calf, decided to sign Widener, who had improved in the two games before his release with 13 innings and three runs allowed.

Widener will receive approximately $220,000 from Samsung, [한국야동](https://www.19guide03.com)which is the terms of his existing contract with NC ($598,000 per year) divided by the number of enrollment days remaining this season.
